Greg slumped into a chair by the fire in the inter-house common room. He was bored, tired and wanted someone to talk to. He thought about talking to Aaron or Matt but Aaron was off elsewhere and Matt was busy with his teaching duties. He was going a bit insane as a result.

Boredom got even the best of people, and Alex found herself diagnosed with the said illness. Symptoms: Heavy sighing, sitting around doing nothing. Oh, she had it bad. Walking casually into the interhouse common room, she threw herself onto a sofa, and noticed someone else was in the room. She'd seen him in some of her classes and indeed the common room, although his name escaped her memory. "Hey." She said lazily, although she hoped it didn't appear rude. Screw that, she didn't care what people thought of her.

"Oh, hello." he said with a faint shrug. He wasn't at all surprised that someone came in here. It wasn't like he was doomed to being the only person to ever be in the Interhouse common room. He just usually ended up on the wrong end of time, at least, until today that is.

"I take it you're sciving as well." She said, refering to herself as the 'as well'. Her reason being, who needed to sit around for a whole lesson, getting a headache in some stinky old room, staring into a lump of glass, with the only future you're getting from it is 'You will be happy when you leave this classroom.' Who needed Divination anyway? She hated it when they put the dorky lessons in as core subjects.

"Yeah. Skipping Care of Magical Creatures. That class is way too boring to sit through. Although I could probably stomach it if there was an accident in that class." he replied with a shrug of his shoulder. The teacher for that class made him fall asleep way too often in that class.

"Think they need to get themselves a dragon or something." Alex muttered. She wasn't too keen on Magical Creatures, she preferred duelling herself, and transfiguration, things that would help later on in life, not cheap glass balls or flobberworms.

"Yeah, no kidding. Dealing with anything else is practically a nightmare." he replied with a faint yet obvious shrug. He really didn't like the slow pace of the class and wished that there was a different teacher in command there. Once he got his mind into check though, he took a better look of who he was talking to.

"I think Professor Weasley needs to get the staff rolling in." She said. "There are what, three, four teachers?" Most of the classes Alex was taking this year were totally different to what she had been told they were like, though this was most likely due to the lack of staff. What was the point of keeping all of them at Hogwarts with no classes or big events?

"Yeah, no kidding. I know one of those teachers as a good friend of mine." he replied with a faint shrug. He wasn't all that big a fan of the lack of staff. It only meant that he would be in for a rough time dealing with the same teachers for almost every class.

"The upside is that they've got to remember more names, and so it's less likely they'll remember mine when i'm wreaking havoc around the school." She said, despite the fact that the staff had known her name since the second day in her first year. Some people just got into trouble easier than others, and to Alex it was second nature.

"True, true, but I have to deal with having known one of them when they were still a student here at Hogwarts." he replied with a faint shrug. Matt's annoying sometimes. he thought silently. He then glanced once more at the girl before saying "Name's Greg Orton." with a faint shrug.

This post has been deleted as it was a disruption to the current thread. The term open allows more people to join, but on the terms that they do not mess up what is currently being played out.

"Woah, that must be a pain. Having one of your friends dishing out detentions for things they probably taught you how to do." She said, thankful that nothing like that had happened to her recently, even if it wasn't all that extreme. "Nice to meet you Greg. Alex Pix." She replied, deciding that she couldn't be bothered to shake his hand or anything like that. "So which professor is this?" She asked.

"Matt Johanson." he replied with a faint shrug. He nodded when she introduced herself before saying "Nice to meet you." He wasn't surprised that Alex was trying to learn more about him but he wasn't against it either. You gotta meet someone new at some point during each day. he thought silently.

"Potions Master, right?" She asked, unsure as to whether she did know who he was talking about, though pretty sure that she was thinking of the right person. It was nice to finally talk to someone, even if sitting quietly and plotting in a corner was what most of her friends were doing. They're the ones that will turn out to be Death Eaters. She thought. There was no way that she was going to get dragged into their schemes, she had her own ones to drag people into. They weren't on as larger scale as those of her friends, but they were enough to get a few housepoints taken off, and that was only on the rare occasion that they got caught.
